Student Grants
Families needing financial assistance are encouraged to apply. Western now uses the services of Independent School Management Financial Aid for School Tuition (FAST) to assist in the financial aid process. We believe you will find their program very user-friendly and easy to complete. All applications must be completed on-line, and there is a $34.00 fee for this service. Any questions that you may have while completing your application can be answered at your convienence using a 24-hour customer help line. Click on the FAST icon above that will take you directly to Western Mennonite School’s section of the FAST website to apply.
If applying and/or paying on-line presents a problem for your family, please contact Cheryl Mayo in the admissions office at 503-363-2000 or by email.
For priority consideration, Western Mennonite School must receive grant reports from FAST by April 15th. All grant applications meeting the April 15th deadline will be collected and grants will be awarded the first week of May. No grants will be awarded before May 1st. Grant application reports received after April 15th will be processed as they are received and grants will be awarded as long as funds are available. If you have questions please contact Cheryl Mayo.
Who should apply for aid?
FAST has found that a family’s income is the best indicator of need. Therefore, the general rule of thumb is as follows:
If your family’s tuition is at least 10% of your combined household income you may qualify for aid (i.e., an income of $60,000 would require a total family tuition of $6,000 or more to qualify for aid).
