Academic Center Progress

The construction of Phase I of the Academic Center is progressing and the completion of Phase I is slated for spring of 2008. The 8,000 square foot facility includes a library, almost double the size of the current one, a computer lab, student workrooms, and computer workstations that will provide an excellent educational opportunity. Phase II will include a 4,000 square foot science wing and a student commons area.

Approximately $350,000 in new gifts and pledges are needed to complete Phase I of the Academic Center and another $850,000 to be able to build Phase II. Reaching this goal within a year would place Western in a very healthy position to strengthen the quality mission of faith and learning Western has become known for.

The funding for the Academic Center took a leap forward when a donor set a challenge match for gifts of $10,000 or more up to a total of $250,000. This offer is good until December 15, 2008. Gifts are split with 80% going to the capital project and 20% to the Annual Fund. Multiple gifts from one donor can be combined to reach $10,000. Completing this project will be a significant accomplishment in Western's commitment to excellence. We invite you to consider investing in Western and helping to impact student's lives for years to come.
