Running the Race
Passing the baton to the next generation

You were there once. In school, learning from your teachers and peers. With the world at your fingertips, you could do anything. Now there’s a new generation with the same thoughts, dreams, and aspirations, just waiting to soak up the same wisdom that guided you. On May 2 you have a chance to pass the baton to the next generation by giving at the 37th Annual Benefit Auction. By supporting Western, you pass on the opportunity for students to have a Christian education that will shape their future.

Do you not know that in a race all the runners run, but only one gets the prize? Run in such a way as to get the prize. Everyone who competes in the games goes into strict training. They do it to get a crown that will not last; but we do it to get a crown that will last forever. Therefore I do not run like a man running aimlessly; I do not fight like a man beating the air. No, I beat my body and make it my slave so that after I have preached to others, I myself will not be disqualified for the prize.
1 Corinthians 9:24-27

Running the Race

» Training
Students at Western continually train their mind and soul. Both in and out of the classroom, they prepare for their race after high school.
» Persevering
As the race gets tough, students rely on their training and lean on God, causing them to push through.
» Finishing
Approaching the finish line of high school, students anticipate the prize they’ve been running for – a diploma. But more than that, they celebrate the hard work that has prepared them for their next race.

Train a child in the way he should go, and when he is old he will not turn from it.
Proverbs 22:6
