A note from our Chapel Coordinator

Dear parents,

This year has been a blur taking on the role of Chapel Coordinator. One area I want to improve in as we head into the Spring is communicating what is happening in chapels with parents so that you are better informed and even equipped to support the spiritual growth that we hope and pray your student is experiencing at WMS.

With that in mind I want to inform you of some upcoming chapels:

Thursday, April 13 | Jami Sims
Jami Sims will be sharing her personal testimony with our students. She attends Creekside Community Church in McMinnville, she is a wife and mother of 8 children. She has a powerful testimony that highlights growing up in a Christian home while dealing with the pressure to pursue acceptance and affirmation from everywhere except God. She will be sharing how these choices led to an abortion and attempted suicide. She is aware of and will be sensitive to having young students in the audience. She will not be going into any graphic details on these topics, but will focus on how God has used them in her life.

Please feel welcome to join us for this (or any Chapel) if you would like to hear Jami’s testimony. If you have any concerns feel free to contact me.

April 17 – 21 | Spiritual Renewal Week
Our Spring Spiritual Renewal Week is right around the corner and I ask that you join me in praying for this special week. Jim Ramos will be our featured speaker Tuesday – Thursday. He is president and founder of a ministry called “The Great Hunt For God”. Jim has a heart for our students and has spoken at Western on multiple occasions over the years. He will be speaking on friendship and what it looks like to make wise and deliberate choices in regards to friends and life in general.

I have committed to spending the last 10 minutes of each lunch period praying for our students and our upcoming chapels today through April 21. I have invited students and our faculty and staff to join me, and now I also invite you to join us in prayer. You can pray from where you are or you are welcome to join us in the chapel if your schedule allows. Times will be 12:10 (middle school lunch) and 1:00 (high school lunch).
