Student Activities

The activities offered to students at WMS help promote the togetherness and teamwork spirit that defines the school. Students can realize their passions and are released to hone their gifts, while at the same time be able to incorporate their beliefs. The opportunities we offer are another setting for students to be guided and directed in their faith and in learning: on the playing field and stage, at a banquet celebration table, while conversing over a shared book, and in the bridging of cultural experiences.

High school and middle school students can take part in soccer, cross country, volleyball, basketball, baseball, and softball. Learn more about our athletic program.

Western’s music program includes choir, band and worship. In the last nine years, Western’s A cappella Choir has finished in the top three at the 2A choir state championship, finishing first in 3 of the last 4 years. Choirs travel each year to a national or regional music festival where they sing with students from up to 14 different schools around the country. Tours include trips to places such as California, Idaho, Washington, and Canada.

Our drama program offers a unique blend of quality theatrical and servant-leadership training. The program helps create well-rounded students who gain artistic creativity, build confidence, and develop leadership skills. Students can take part in both drama and musical performances throughout the year.

Leadership, Service & Clubs

Other extra curricular activities that we offer include Student Council, National Honor Society, Yearbook, and school-sponsored clubs such as the International Club, Book Club, Big Brothers/Big Sisters, and Worship Team.
