Guidance Counseling

button2015-2016 Class Forecasting is right around the corner. Check out this Parent Guide to be on the same page with your student before they meet with the guidance counselor!

The guidance counselor is on campus to provide academic, career, college, and personal-social counseling, which can be conducted individually, in groups, and in the classroom. Some questions the guidance counselor can help answer and direct you on include:

  • What classes should I take and when?
  • What should I do if I’m behind in credits for graduation?
  • What are possible career options that allows me to use the gifts God has given me?
  • How can I develop my gifts and get real-life career experience while I’m still in high school?
  • When should I take my SAT test?
  • How can I decide what colleges are a good fit for me?
  • What can I do to resolve a conflict with my friend, teacher, or parent?
  • How can I make more friends or get to know people better?
